Debbie Johnston - Founder and Chief People Partner

Hi! I’m Debbie, the spirit behind TribalHR. Imagine a school kid dreaming of becoming a chiropodist – yep, that was me! Somehow, those foot-focused dreams pivoted, and after attaining an MSc in HR Management, I dove into the bustling world of HR in-house in the City’s varied sectors in 1995.

My adventures extended to the sunny shores of Australia and New Zealand’s breath-taking landscapes in my 20s, each journey teaching me invaluable lessons about life and culture.

Returning to the UK saw me exploring Floristry and Economics lecturing, only to have HR charm me back, leading ultimately to the creation of TribalHR in 2015. I’m all about genuine client relationships and am geeky about slick, cloud-based HR solutions, ensuring your business always shines bright in clear and commercial HR practices.

Life away from HR is a blend of adventures with my 2 sons and fur baby, Cassie, paired with the tranquillity of open-water swimming and contributing to local charities as a Trustee.

Cara Berrecloth - HR Consultant

I have worked in both the private and public sectors and after gaining commercial experience in the energy industry, I pursued my career in Human Resources. For more than a decade, I have enjoyed working in a range of HR functions that have included recruitment, policy development, the provision of expert HR advice and HR systems implementation. I particularly love analysing and making sense of data and using this to form and communicate recommendations that help my valued customers to make informed people management decisions. When I’m not working I’m running around after my two little ones

Cath Spinks - Bookkeeper /Office Manager

I have over 25 years of experience in book keeping and office administration.

I enjoy beach holidays in Dorset with my partner and our two children.

Cassie – Chief Happiness Officer

This fluffy has been working at supporting our staff for the past 2 years.
Highly experienced in chasing squirrels and jumping up at inappropriate times on zoom calls.
Cassie has been guarding the office against all those delivery drivers since 2020.

Nicki Freshwater - HR Consultant

I have always had a passion for people and was able to put this into practice by completing my degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources Manager. Having spent the last 20 years working and learning in the field of Human Resources, that passion hasn’t waned. I have worked in  a variety of industries, in global businesses to small start ups, and my main aim is to ensure that all businesses have access to practical, commercial and legal HR support and advice, regardless of their size or industry. Understanding the business is always a top priority for me when getting to know a new client and allows me to support them in achieving those goals through their people. With a young family I enjoy managing the juggle of family and working life, alongside travelling the world and supporting culture in my local area as an executive director on a Cultural Development Trust.

Tracey Caccavale – Reward and Benefit Consultant

Tracey is a highly experienced, cross-country Reward and Benefit expert.

She has worked for multinational companies such as L’Oreal and Cantor Fitzgerald.

Tracey’s husband runs a small business too however so she completely understands the pain points of a growing international business that needs to get its compensation and benefits package right.

Joe Thomas - HR Associate

Joe has over two decades of experience dealing with face-to-face HR issues in a variety of industries.

His wide understanding of HR and Employment Law enables Joe to approach all scenarios in an organised, focused and professional manner.

In his spare time, Joe enjoys cycling and is a keen Cocktail Mixologist!

Steph Crossland - Headhunter

Steph has in excess of 20 years’ experience in strategic Executive Research.

During which time she has excelled in identifying and attracting senior level candidates including CEO’s, Board Directors, other top team personnel and Non-Executives.

In addition, she has become adept at recruiting for the more challenging, junior, specialist roles.  Sector experience is all inclusive, stretching from local and central government to broad ranging national and global corporations, numerous SME’s and not-for-profit organisations.

Tarnya Brink – HR Consultant

Tarnya is an independent HR Consultant based in the Midlands and her business is called Invictus HR. She is a passionate Chartered Fellow of the CIPD with over 35 years HR and business experience working across multiple industries in both the UK and South Africa.

Tarnya has a passion for finding solutions to staffing issues to help your business manage its resources in a way that enhances productivity and motivates your staff to be the best they can be in your business.

Joanna Tarabilda – HR Consultant

Joanna is an independent HR Consultant and her business is called HR Worx. Based in Staffordshire, she  has a passion for helping people to overcome the fear factor of dealing with difficult situations and conversations. Ultimately, she can take care of their people related problems and ensure that they can focus on their business.

With over 20 years of managerial experience and more than 15 years within HR, her knowledge and experiences give her the ability to cover a wide spectrum of HR needs, with experience in both public and private sectors and industries.

Joanna works with clients in leisure, catering, criminal law and professional services, trades and maintenance and manufacturing and engineering. Cath Blanchard – HR Associate

Cath has a lengthy background in HR and operational management, in public, private and voluntary sectors.  Covering areas as diverse as waste management to social care.  This variety gives her the skills and experience to support most business’ when dealing with their employment issues.
